Japan is without doubt, the most incredible country I’ve ever been to. I am most inspired when traveling around Japan and take more photos than ever when I’m there. Because of this, I have established a certain style to my imagery, which I am now making available for the very first time, in the form of Lightroom presets!

Inspired by urban Japan, these Adobe Lightroom presets offer a professional base to edit your images of any genre, for a unique and eye-catching style.

With heavy attention to the cleanliness and shininess of urban Japan, my Lightroom presets will work extremely well across all camera manufacturers, including Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm and more.

Though inspired by Japan, these presets will also work exceptionally well with photos from any location around the world!

For best results, due to every image being different, apply these presets first and further tweak exposure settings as necessary. These presets should be used for tonality and colour variations rather than a one-click edit.

They will still work for JPG photos, though RAW images are recommended, for greater control.

There are 25 “looks” in this package, with each look also offering an (Auto) option that will attempt to correct any exposure settings automatically. Every photo is different, so further tweaking and experimentation may be needed.

As an added bonus for Fujifilm shooters, each of the looks is also available in a Classic Chrome variation for that extra Fujifilm magic!

As a side note, all images shown below have had the relevant preset applied with a single click and no further editing. Hopefully this illustrates the immediate power they bring to easily editing your photos for a unique style.

The ‘Chrome’ series is great for accentuating the shininess and clean edginess to urban scenes.

Using colour contrast and vastly different shadow/highlight adjustments, ‘Cityscape Pop’ offers a unique style that really makes a busy scene, pop! This look also has 5 different varieties to choose from. Cityscape Pop 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

For general clean brightening of city scenes for cool or warm tones, take a browse through ‘Warm and Cool’ series. Warm Bright, Warm Normal, Cool Bright 1, 2 and Cool Normal.

‘Gritty Contrast’ is a great series for dark, edgy and contrasty grittiness to urban city scenes. With a unique contrast separation to make elements lift off the page; images with Gritty Contrast standout incredibly well. Gritty Contrast 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.

The ‘Neon’ series is inspired by all the glowing signage and night scenes found in urban Japan. These looks are perfect for night based city scenes or anything with illuminated backdrops, whether in Tokyo or anywhere else in the world. Neon 1, 2 and 3.

The ‘Subdued’ set offer subtle and soothing styles for a truly subdued and calming look. Enjoy the smooth tones and pleasing contrast for a relaxed and natural feel. Subdued 1, 2 and 3.
